Delivery & Returns

Business-to-Business Sales

Caterhut supplies commercial catering equipment to businesses and trade customers.

By placing an order, the Buyer confirms that the purchase is being made wholly or mainly for the purposes of its business and agrees to be bound by our Terms & Conditions of Sale.

There is no automatic cooling-off or change-of-mind right in respect of correctly supplied Goods purchased in a business-to-business transaction.

Delivery Charges

Free delivery applies to qualifying UK Mainland orders of £300 or more excluding VAT, unless otherwise stated.

Deliveries to the Scottish Highlands, islands, Northern Ireland, remote areas and certain postcodes may be subject to additional delivery charges.

If you are unsure whether additional charges apply, please contact us before ordering on 0161 713 3085 or at sales@caterhut.com.

Delivery Times

Delivery dates and lead times are estimates only. Goods are dispatched from our own, manufacturers' and distributors' warehouses. Orders containing multiple products may therefore arrive in separate deliveries.

Stock availability and estimated delivery times may change between quotation/order and dispatch.

Do not arrange installers, engineers, contractors, staff, closures or other works dependent upon delivery until the Goods have been delivered, inspected and confirmed as suitable. Subject to our Terms & Conditions, Caterhut will not be responsible for costs incurred because arrangements were made before delivery and inspection.

Delivery Service

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, delivery is kerbside or ground-floor delivery only.

Standard delivery does not include:

  • moving Goods inside the premises;

  • negotiating stairs, lifts or restricted access;

  • unpacking or positioning;

  • assembly;

  • connection or installation; or

  • removal or disposal of existing equipment.

Large and heavy commercial equipment may be delivered by one driver. The Buyer is responsible for providing sufficient personnel and suitable lifting/moving equipment to safely receive and move the Goods.

Any additional delivery service must be agreed with Caterhut before the Goods are dispatched and may incur an additional charge.

IMPORTANT — Dimensions, Access & Site Suitability

The Buyer is responsible for checking all dimensions, specifications, capacities, electrical requirements, access routes, doorways, clearances and Site suitability before ordering.

Where Caterhut provides product dimensions, specifications, drawings or manufacturer literature, the Buyer must check this information and satisfy itself that the Goods are suitable for its requirements and Site before placing the Order.

If any dimension, capacity, specification or performance requirement is critical, the Buyer must inform Caterhut in writing before ordering.

Unless Caterhut has expressly accepted responsibility for Site suitability in writing, Caterhut does not warrant that Goods will fit through doorways, lifts, access routes or within an existing opening, counter, equipment position or available space.

The Buyer is responsible for any additional delivery, redelivery, collection, storage or other reasonable costs resulting from inadequate access, incorrect measurements, undisclosed restrictions or the Site not being ready to receive the Goods.

Access Restrictions

The Buyer must notify Caterhut before dispatch of any restriction that may affect delivery, including narrow roads, weight restrictions, pedestrianised areas, restricted delivery hours, stairs, lifts, loading restrictions or other access difficulties.

Where no restrictions have been notified, we are entitled to arrange delivery using a commercial delivery vehicle appropriate for the Goods.

Failed or aborted deliveries resulting from inadequate access, the Site being closed, nobody being available to accept delivery or other circumstances within the Buyer's control may incur redelivery, storage and/or return charges.

Inspection & Transit Damage

The Buyer should inspect the Goods and packaging as soon as reasonably possible upon delivery.

Any apparent transit damage, shortage or discrepancy must be notified to Caterhut in writing within 24 hours of delivery, together with photographs of the Goods, packaging and delivery label.

Where visible damage is identified at delivery, this should also be recorded on the carrier's delivery documentation wherever reasonably possible.

Signing "unchecked" does not constitute notification of damage.

The Buyer should retain all packaging until the Goods have been fully inspected.

These notification requirements relate to transit damage and shortages and do not affect claims relating to Goods that are otherwise defective or incorrectly supplied, subject to our Terms & Conditions of Sale.

Returns of Correctly Supplied Goods

Correctly supplied Goods are not automatically returnable.

Any request to cancel or return correctly supplied Goods is subject to Caterhut's prior written approval and must not be returned without a Return Authorisation.

Where Caterhut agrees to accept a discretionary return, the Goods must be:

  • unused and uninstalled;

  • complete and undamaged;

  • in resaleable condition; and

  • in their original packaging where applicable.

A restocking/administration charge of up to 25% of the net purchase price may apply sometimes as much as 50%, together with any applicable collection, transport, manufacturer or supplier charges.

The Buyer is responsible for the cost and risk of returning Goods unless Caterhut expressly agrees otherwise.

No refund or credit will be issued until authorised returned Goods have been received and inspected.

Non-Returnable & Specifically Procured Goods

Unless Caterhut expressly agrees otherwise in writing, Goods that have been made-to-order, manufactured, modified, configured, reserved, specially ordered or specifically procured for the Buyer cannot be cancelled or returned once the order has been accepted or procurement has commenced.

This may include equipment ordered specifically from a manufacturer or distributor to fulfil the Buyer's Order.

Incorrect or Faulty Goods

Nothing in this Returns policy is intended to remove any rights or remedies available to a business Buyer where Caterhut has supplied Goods that do not conform to the Contract.

Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied Goods are dealt with separately in accordance with our Terms & Conditions of Sale and applicable warranty arrangements.

Installation

Unless installation has been expressly included in Caterhut's written quotation or Order Acceptance, installation is not included.

The Buyer is responsible for ensuring that appropriate electrical supplies, gas supplies, water, drainage, ventilation, extraction, clearances and other Site services required for the Goods are available and suitable.

Installation and connection must be undertaken by appropriately qualified and competent persons where required.
